About Francesca

Hi, I’m Fran, a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher and the founder of Language Beyond Limits. I teach French and German to children, teenagers and adults, both online and in person from my base in Hagley, Worcestershire. I’ve been teaching languages for 8 years, including in secondary schools, as a private tutor and as a freelance language professional. I have a BA (Hons) in French Studies, a PGCE in Modern Languages and QTS, and I’ve taught French and German from primary level through to GCSE and A Level. I genuinely love languages and, for me, learning a language is about so much more than getting the right answer in a textbook. It’s about communication, confidence, culture and being able to actually use the language in real life. I particularly enjoy those moments when a learner suddenly realises they can say something they couldn’t say before! I work with a wide range of learners, from young children discovering their first foreign language to GCSE and A Level students, as well as adults learning for travel, work or simply because they’ve always wanted to speak another language. I also have a particular interest in supporting learners who find traditional classroom environments difficult. I have extensive experience working with learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other specific learning needs, as well as anxiety and school avoidance. My lessons are friendly, flexible and adapted to the individual learner rather than expecting every student to learn in the same way. Whether you need help preparing for an exam, want to build your confidence speaking French, are returning to a language you learnt years ago, or simply want to enjoy learning something new, I’ll work with you to make the lessons relevant to your goals. Outside teaching, I love travelling and using my languages in real-life situations, reading, running and outdoor and cold-water swimming. I also have a particular love of animals and hope to return to volunteering with them when life is a little less busy!
