Josilene Powell

About Josilene

I graduated in 1986 from a university in São Paulo, Brazil, with a qualification to teach Portuguese. I have lived and worked in the United Kingdom for twenty years and currently hold dual citizenship (British and Brazilian). I have worked with primary and secondary school students in local schools as a Portuguese/EAL (Portuguese as an Additional Language) instructor for the Coventry Education Authority; my role involved conducting GCSE oral exams, providing preparation for GCSE and GCE A/AS level exams, and assisting students in adapting to an English-speaking environment. Since 2010, I have also been teaching Brazilian and European Portuguese to individual students and small groups. Furthermore, for about fifteen years, I have successfully prepared secondary school students for GCSE and A-level Portuguese exams at various schools across the West Midlands region. I have also been a Cambridge Examiner Assistant for nearly ten years.
